Boy I'm feeling dumb.A 2nd HD: plop.fizz.A USB card: plop.fizz.A soundboard: plop.fizz.Corsair SSD? It appears in Devices, but not in Explorer. And not a hint of how to enable it.What am I missing?I'm trying not to get insanely frustrated. Read a ton of stuff. Haven't seen a thing about initializing, which makes me think that this too should be plop.fizz.

So I'm missing something.p.s. Snooping Corsair SSD Toolbox, lots of functionality but no hint at why I don't see the thing as a volume.

First off, as I wrote: 'It appears in Devices, but not in Explorer'you may want to look into installing Windows on it'. But ATM I just want this for ArmA3.Win7-64.' SSD needs to be shown here then right click on it and partition it and format it' sounds sensible. Though it's odd to me that an SSD would need to be formatted.' Go to Disk Management'. I have never heard of such, and do not see it in Control Panel.Search for 'Disk Management' in Help gives no such.Okay, I see now this is just confusion about names: 'disk management(Start + R and type devmgmt.msc)'Using Start devmgmt.msc.

The SSD will not show up when the file system is not supported or is corrupted, so if none of the above methods can help, please try to repair the file system by formatting. Just go to Disk Management, right-click the SSD and select the Format option.

Device Manager. FWIW I get there via System in Control Panel. In Device Manager / Properties for the SSD, I get a tab for 'Volumes', which is blank/empty. And that has a button for 'Populate'. Pressing that gives me some data.

But a) nothing new shows in Explorer, and b) next time I go to 'Populate', that's gone.Addendum: just peeked 'Volumes' for my 2 HDs; they are likewise blank/empty. So that's not the problem.' Normally you would want it to be the boot drive?' That's probably the most common use. But my HD is fine for OS.

Good enough for me.It's just a storage device; use it for whatever you want/need.I got this 60Gig unit for 1 specific task. First off, as I wrote: 'It appears in Devices, but not in Explorer'you may want to look into installing Windows on it'.

Looks like you got it all up and running in the endEnjoy the new drive.
