I mean they are part of the game but if so why wouldn't they be in the game to begin with.Have a good'n Hi,for Quake 1, they are included in the original image files, there must have been some kind of stipulation in regard to selling it with the playable wav files. These files aren't being sold, and are intended for those who purchased the game, so there shouldn't be any legal problems with downloading them.for Quake 2, they are included, but mine are just higher bitrate. I own Quake 1's original CD release and can attest to it. Exact Audio Copy, the program I used in order to rip the audio tracks from my own CD, states that the CD is pre-emphasized. Exact Audio Copy, the program I used in order to rip the audio tracks from my own CD, states that the CD is pre-emphasized. I'm not suggesting that the CD doesn't have Pre-Emphasis flags in the subcode, I'm saying that I don't think the audio actually has Pre-Emphasis in the mastering. I have Quake version 1.06 and it has Pre-Emphasis flags in the index/cue as well, however later releases of the game have identical audio tracks, while missing the Pre-Emphasis flags, so one of them has to be incorrect. I personally think the audio sounds better without de-emphasis so, I put my own opinion up there.I included both the original and both SOX and iTunes de-emphasized versions just for completion, so people can pick whichever they like.
